In honor of Black History Month, the Greenville Journal is publishing a series of articles highlighting the impact of individuals and organizations in the Upstate's Black community. In the second of this series, the Journal's February 13th cover story recognizes Felsie Harris, president of the Haynie-Sirrine Neighborhood Association for the past 28 years. Haynie-Sirrine has been Felsie's lifelong home since her birth in 1947, and she has been a tireless neighborhood advocate and community leader through decades of change and transition. The article includes the following quote from Felsie: "I've been given a great chance to do something good in my community". Good indeed!
