Haynie-Sirrine Rezone Approved by City Council
Greenville City Council approves the Haynie-Sirrine rezoning on December 8th
The Greenville City Council unanimously approved the Haynie-Sirrine rezoning at the December 8th Council meeting. The approved rezoning map is depicted below.

The rezoning of Haynie-Sirrine is the culmination of a nearly two-year planning effort by the City planning staff and community stakeholders that included the update and adoption of the new Haynie-Sirrine Neighborhood Plan, the development of zoning and land use recommendations consistent with the GVL2040 Comprehensive Plan and the new Greenville Development Code, and the replacement of the existing Planned Development (PD) zoning district.
The Haynie-Sirrine Neighborhood Association spoke in favor of the proposed rezoning map that was reviewed by City Council. The rezoning brings Haynie-Sirrine into the city-wide Development Code, providing much needed updates and more specific zoning regulations. The new Neighborhood Plan and rezoning represents real progress for Haynie-Sirrine, and will enable the future development of the neighborhood in a manner consistent with the rest of the City.
The Neighborhood Association wants to acknowledge City Manager Shannon Lavrin and the City planning staff for their support of this planning project. The planning staff demonstrated impressive expertise, and did an outstanding job in engaging the neighborhood community, and developing the new Neighborhood Plan and rezoning. Job well done!
